The Travertine Stone Type
Travertine is similar to limestone in terms of performance, although it is somewhat more absorbent and can scratch or etch. Most come with an epoxy glue to patch the holes that appear naturally around hot and cold springs during their manufacture.
Travertine is widely used for both exterior and interior applications. Natural travertine is dark in color, ranging from ecru to dark red, and has a range of vein tints. Natural travertine is softer than marble or granite and should be sealed to protect it.
